Why The Drying Heating Tubes Will Be Red When Working?

Many customers will be panicked when the heating elements of the fermenter turns red, fearing that the electric heating tubes will explode or burn out. In fact, this does not need to worry at all. Let me explain to you how the red heating tube will turn red.

Each electric heating tube has its surface load, and the surface load determines its surface temperature.

Surface load refers to the power of the electric heating tube per square centimeter.

Surface load  = power (W) / [diameter (CM) *3.14*L (CM)]

L is the total heating length of the electric heating tube.

Let’s briefly enumerate the relationship between surface load and the surface temperature of electric heating tubes.

The surface load is 1W/cm2… The surface temperature can reach 300 degrees celsius.

The surface load is 2W/cm2… The surface temperature can reach 400 degrees celsius.

The surface load is 3W/cm2… The surface temperature can reach 500 degrees celsius.

The surface load is 4W/cm2… The surface temperature can reach 600 degrees celsius.

When the dry heating electric heating tube is at rest, the surface temperature will reach more than 400 degrees, and the surface of the tube will turn red.

If you use a fermenter heating pipe which the material can stand 400 degrees, and also with a temperature control, even if the surface of the electric heating pipe is red, it will not affect the use. Therefore, when the dry heating electric heating tube is red, there is no need to panic. It is a normal phenomenon.
