For example :
The power of electric heating tube is required to heat 100kg water from the initial water temperature of 10 ℃ to 60 ℃ in 60mins (3600s)?
Normal specific heat capacity of water: 4.2kJ/(kg·℃);
Temperature difference: 60-10=50℃
Required power(kw)=The water weight(kg) * Temperature difference * Specific heat capacity of water (kJ/(kg·℃)) / Time (s);
The thermal power is calculated by substituting it into the formula =100*50*4.2/3600≈5.8KW.
The power value of electric heating element can be obtained by dividing different electric heating forms by a certain thermal efficiency coefficient (such as 0.8-0.9).
Time required for every 10 ℃ rise of power corresponding to common water tank capacity:
Water tank capacity / Power | 3KW | 6KW | 9KW | 12KW | 15KW |
100L | 25-30min | 12-15min | 8-10min | 6-7min | 5-6min |
200L | 50-60min | 25-30min | 16-20min | 12-14min | 10-12min |
300L | 36-45min | 24-30min | 18-21min | 15-18min
500L | 40-50min | 30-35min | 25-30min |
Water tank capacity / Power | 15KW | 30KW | 50KW | 60KW | 90KW |
1000L | 50-60min | 25-30min | 15-18min | 12-15min | 8-10min |
2000L | 50-60min | 30-36min | 24-30min | 16-20min
3000L | 45-54min | 36-45min | 24-30min
5000L | 60-75min | 40-50min |
The above table is for closed water tank, not applicable to fluid and thermal circulation system; the default water tank is full water state, if not, it should be converted according to the actual capacity.
